CFG has a part-time (5 hours/week) need for a Medical Director in Burlington County, NJ. Amazing leadership opportunity offering a competitive pay rate. We are looking for physicians with experience in corrections, emergency medicine, urgent care, primary medicine, or family medicine.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs and documents routine physical examinations on patients consistent with the National Commission on Correctional Health Care standards of care, NJ 10-A, American Correctional Association and Performance Based National Detention Standards.
  • Participates in the annual review and approval of CFG clinical guidelines, protocols, policies and procedures as well as the medical disaster plan.
  • Assures the implementation and on-going supervision of the on-site chronic care clinics.
  • Assumes the role of primary care physician to patients and coordinates care.
  • Performs medical examinations on all new inmates as needed.
  • Provides treatment and orders studies, tests and ancillary services required.
  • Supervises clinical services.
  • Conducts Doctor Sick Call to examine and treat those patients requesting care and who require the services of a physician.
  • Supervises the development of and application of policies, procedures, and protocols in the care of detainees/inmate patients.
  • Participates in the interviewing and hiring of physician and mid-level provider staff.
  • Supervises clinical service treatments, medications and other treatments to treat illnesses and health problems.
  • Provides emergency treatment on-site and responds appropriately in urgent or emergency situations.
  • Ensures that all telephone orders are countersigned within 72 hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education

  • Completion from an accredited medical school facility with a MD or DO degree.
  • Completion of a US based residency program.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in New Jersey.

Minimum Work Experience

  • At least two years of public health, emergency, family practice, urgent care experience.
  • Previous correctional health care experience preferred.
